Kitty’s One Paragraph Review of “Midnight In Paris”
This is basically an hour and a half work of crossover fanfic that gives us a Marty Stu that only Woody Allen and similarly self-indulgent narcissists could love. Oh, parts of it are fun because its like “OH HAI LOOK AT THAT FAMOUS PERSON” but overall it was both intellectually masturbatory and devoid. And even though the protagonist had a big and very obviously explained epiphany (to the point where he actually said “I am having an epiphany”) his thought process and behavior didn’t change. Instead of joining the world of adults, he broke up with his evil harpy of a fiancee (who was, in my opinion, the realest bitch in that movie) and took a midnight stroll down the streets of Paris with his idealized version of a French woman—one who indulged his infantile idealizations and loved getting caught in the rain.

We asked thusspakekate to review Midnight in Paris so we didn’t have to. We’re happy with the way it turned out.
